Google has announced the launch of Google+ Pages, specifically built for businesses on Google+.
With a network of more than 40 million members, Google+ is indeed deserving of your marketing attention, so smart marketers should set up their Google+ Pages as soon as possible. Here are 5 basic steps to create a Google+ Page for your business.
1.select an Accessible Gmail Account
don,t create your business page via just any old account, such as a personal Gmail. Instead, select a Gmail account that can be open to multiple users of your marketing domain (e.g. [email protected]), and use that account to create your page.
Because Google+ Pages’ administrative capabilities currently don’t seem to be as sophisticated as Facebook, you’ll want to choose a hosting account that makes your page as accessible to multiple contributors as possible
2.Create a Page with the Desired Account
Visit http://plus.google.com/pages/create, and if you see the option to create a Google+ Page, get started! Follow the expert (it’s much like Facebook’s Page wizard), and choose the appropriate option to classify your business. You’ll be able to select from the following options:
- Local Business or Place
- Product or Brand
- Company, Institution or Organization
- Arts, Entertainment or Sports
- Other
After selecting your classification, fill in your basic information, including your page name, the business website URL, and category.
3.Customize Your Public Profile
The third step involves customizing your public profile. your profile includes your tagline and an image.
4.Promote Your Page
when you’ve created the skeleton of your page, Google+ will now prompt you to promote your page. Our suggestion is to customize your page even further and start sharing a few updates before you begin telling the world about it. building a blank page isn’t a great way to convince people that your Page is valuable enough to add to their Circles. So invest some time in optimizing your page and sharing a few links to valuable content before promoting it to the masses.
5. Get Going
This is really all you have to do to get your page started. smart marketers know, the ‘basics’ aren’t usually all. On this step, follow Google+’s prompts to create an efficient page. Although every social media has its specific nuances and characters, many of the same best practices will still apply.
